Glock 17 Pistol Model - The original is still pretty good, coming Gen 3, my wife and I had a blast with it out of the box. Forgiving and rather simple, it doesn't take much to work well. The 2k round is strong with tungsten guide rods and can be a ranged weapon with many aftermarket sights. It's so easy to learn not to get big on anyone but a small, hideous figure.

This is one of the best 9mm pistols out there. I know there are many and us. The Glock 19 is #1, but the lighter, thinner, full-size 9mm Glock 17 Gen 4 concealable with backstrap including beavertail is better because NATO FMJ is good practice and not trash. More pressure for affordable practice materials. I usually use the NATO 239 grain .45 acp Glock 21 model, but this is my second favourite. Haven't tried the Gen 5 yet, and I'm generally more comfortable with a duty-sized Gen 4 Glock. Better recoil assembly can help with FTE issues or irregular ejection issues.

It has been widely used without being aware of its history. I modified the trigger and striker assembly to increase the trigger pull and added a fiber optic sight. It's 100% reliable! I've had it for about 7 years. Steel casing, factory rebuilds, and old ammunition — he eats them up and spit them out! I have a collection of pistols and buy and sell them, but I'm keeping this one.

I bought a G17, Gen4, to have a single action 9mm for remote use. Previously I was shooting double-action .40 cal. The ease of filming and experience is excellent. That includes back straps of different sizes, which is definitely a plus. I installed the Main Pyramid flat face trigger assembly, extended slide release and optical sight. However, right out of the box it shoots fine. All in all, I have about $900 for this gun, which I think is well worth the cost for my preferences. Fits perfectly in my hand, accurate, minimal recoil, sharp trigger break and fast reset, balanced and reliable. The image of the scabbard is sleek, but not too big to carry around discreetly. The gun is good at range and used during tactical operations. Highly recommend this gun for new or experienced shooters.

I've owned a Gen4 Glock 17 for a few years and consider it one of the best 9mm pistols on the market today. I installed the "Ultimate Pyramid Trigger Assembly" and a fiber optic sight. This option enhances the capabilities of this gun. Plus, the massive back straps and beaver tail provide great feel and comfort. Due to the design's angle and size, getting a good grip out of the draw is comfortable and seamless. Needless to say, speed is critical in getting the alignment of eyes for a quick shot on target. As a duty weapon, it's light so you don't tire yourself with carrying a heavy gun all day. Accuracy at range or during maneuvers is excellent. Shooting with the right or left hand is not a problem because it is balanced. Whether taking accurate shots or quick shots, I haven't had any damage yet. The bottom line is I highly recommend this pistol for home defense, duty or competition shooting.

I have a gen 2 g17 that never misses. I switched to a new magazine. The original magazine started to crack. I replaced the springs and replaced the connectors. I may have done 3000 spins and I would risk my life for it. Now I have a Glock 5 and have had no issues with it.

It's very easy to do, and I think anyone can do it. Polymer 80 Glocks are very easy to make and the one I am currently reviewing was made using an 80 jig below, a Dremel and a hand drill. Took me a few hours and some washing but now it runs like a champ. If you're on the fence, just jump in and do it.

Now that we've gotten a few of the circuit dwellers out of the way, let's go and talk about the Polymer 80 Glock I built and give it a quick overview. The PF940V2 is a full size model that uses either a Glock 17, 22, 34, 24, 35, 31 or 17L slide. Most of us probably build a Glock 17 or 34. I went with the 17th. For sale now at Rockey Brass!

Polymer 80 Glocks use Gen 3 parts, which are generally common and easy to find. I went with a Larry Vickers special edition Glock 17 slide, a Bear Creek Arsenal barrel, as well as a Glock OEM lower parts kit. The Glock kit includes an extended magazine release and a slide.

I find the Poly 80 frame to be better than the OEM Glock frame in many ways. It has no fingerprints which is great. It uses a 19-degree grip angle from the 1911 compared to the Glock's 22-degree grip, which is more comfortable and natural to me. The rail is a true Picatinny rail versus Glock's amazing rail system. The back of the gun also has a beavertail that you don't get with OEM Glock frames. The PF940V2 is essentially an Americanized Glock.

As you know, America does it better. All of these lower frame changes provide an ergonomic and easier Glock product. The grip angle of the Polymer80 is more comfortable for me, but that's definitely subjective. It feels more natural, but if you've been behind a Glock for years, it might feel strange to you.

One thing I like about the Polymer80 Glock is the addition of the beavertail. One problem I have encountered with Glocks is the slide bite. If I hold the gun well and hide, the slide will drag me every step and eventually break the skin. The Polymer 80 frame doesn't offer the same storage density. The extra beavertail protects you from that, as well as giving you more power to fight nosebleeds.

Once you've run the gun reliably, you probably won't notice much of a difference in accuracy with the Polymer 80. Scope will rarely affect accuracy. It makes shooting more comfortable and controlling the gun easier. I think the Polymer 80 took most of the criticism that the Glock gets. Even Glock has eliminated fingerprints on the latest generation of Glock gloves.

Polymer80 Glock 17 Trigger Not Resetting

The downside of going with a non-standard frame is the latter. You lose compatibility with many different shoes, as well as different frame accessories. Some internal parts like the trigger will still be highly compatible. However, accessories such as the magwell are no longer available.

Another drawback is reliability. You need to ask yourself if you believe in your skills as a shooter? I don't do it myself. I will not use my Polymer80 Glock as a defensive weapon unless I have to. Although I haven't encountered any reliability issues, I prefer a Glock OEM pistol for defensive use. The good news is that you can buy a complete Poly 80 frame but it will require an FFL transfer on all the parts you need to assemble the gun.

The Polymer80 Glock is a fun project, and it allows you to produce your own gun. For me this is just a project. For some, this may be the easiest legal way to own a handgun. With varying state laws making it harder and harder to buy a handgun, building your own may be your only option. If you're under 21, you can't buy a gun at a gun store, but no federal law prevents you from building your own gun. Of course, check your state's laws.

Departments prefer its affordable price, as Glock sometimes offers discounts to police. Officers like the feel and lightness — it weighs 30 ounces fully loaded. The polymer frame handgun is easy to use, durable, concealable and reliable. The standard magazine holds fifteen rounds of 9mm. The Glock-19 has three internal fuses that make it resistant to accidental discharge.

The Glock-19 is also easy to assemble and disassemble, which is a plus when it's time to clean.

Some departments and officers prefer the extra stopping power of the .40 Smith & Wesson round. This is where the Glock 22 comes in. It has a lightweight polymer frame with the familiar ergonomics that Glock is known for. The Glock 22 has the same size and dimensions as the weapon it was based on, the Glock 17. It is the choice of federal law enforcement agencies such as the US Marshals, the Drug Enforcement Agency and the FBI.

It is a Glock 22 (.40 S&W) with several modifications. It has a Hogue rubber grip, Lasermax internal laser, extended slide grip, Surefire X200a light and Trijicon night sights. It is surrounded by Hydra-Shok .40 bullets.

Multiple back straps improve feel and ergonomics.

If you own a shotgun in your collection, chances are it's a 12-moon pump-action Remington 870. A reliable worker, the police keep it as a backup weapon for potential shootouts. It can fire a lead slug or a patterned cartridge. Shotguns are usually accurate at 75 to 100 yards, while regular cartridges are mainly for close range use. SWAT teams can use it when it's time to break down a door.
