Glock 17 Pistol Model - The original is still pretty good, coming Gen 3, my wife and I had a blast with it out of the box. Forgiving and rather simple, it doesn't take much to work well. The 2k round is strong with tungsten guide rods and can be a ranged weapon with many aftermarket sights. It's so easy to learn not to get big on anyone but a small, hideous figure.
I bought the 1 17 in the late 80's early 90's. I've done countless loops and it works like a champ every time. I have several pistols. But this is my hidden luggage and my luggage.

This is one of the best 9mm pistols out there. I know there are many and us. The Glock 19 is #1, but the lighter, thinner, full-size 9mm Glock 17 Gen 4 concealable with backstrap including beavertail is better because NATO FMJ is good practice and not trash. More pressure for affordable practice materials. I usually use the NATO 239 grain .45 acp Glock 21 model, but this is my second favourite. Haven't tried the Gen 5 yet, and I'm generally more comfortable with a duty-sized Gen 4 Glock. Better recoil assembly can help with FTE issues or irregular ejection issues.

It has been widely used without being aware of its history. I modified the trigger and striker assembly to increase the trigger pull and added a fiber optic sight. It's 100% reliable! I've had it for about 7 years. Steel casing, factory rebuilds, and old ammunition — he eats them up and spit them out! I have a collection of pistols and buy and sell them, but I'm keeping this one.
I bought a G17, Gen4, to have a single action 9mm for remote use. Previously I was shooting double-action .40 cal. The ease of filming and experience is excellent. That includes back straps of different sizes, which is definitely a plus. I installed the Main Pyramid flat face trigger assembly, extended slide release and optical sight. However, right out of the box it shoots fine. All in all, I have about $900 for this gun, which I think is well worth the cost for my preferences. Fits perfectly in my hand, accurate, minimal recoil, sharp trigger break and fast reset, balanced and reliable. The image of the scabbard is sleek, but not too big to carry around discreetly. The gun is good at range and used during tactical operations. Highly recommend this gun for new or experienced shooters.

I've owned a Gen4 Glock 17 for a few years and consider it one of the best 9mm pistols on the market today. I installed the "Ultimate Pyramid Trigger Assembly" and a fiber optic sight. This option enhances the capabilities of this gun. Plus, the massive back straps and beaver tail provide great feel and comfort. Due to the design's angle and size, getting a good grip out of the draw is comfortable and seamless. Needless to say, speed is critical in getting the alignment of eyes for a quick shot on target. As a duty weapon, it's light so you don't tire yourself with carrying a heavy gun all day. Accuracy at range or during maneuvers is excellent. Shooting with the right or left hand is not a problem because it is balanced. Whether taking accurate shots or quick shots, I haven't had any damage yet. The bottom line is I highly recommend this pistol for home defense, duty or competition shooting.

One time in 2015 I was in a situation where my friends had no oil or cleaning supplies and weren't going to be leaving anytime soon. This is the British military and we rejoice that we don't have to clean our pistols and that the pistols won't fire after a few rounds, revving like a two-stroke engine. I've gotten into up close and personal situations and this thing back and forth through the entire connection. To this day I still dream about the gun that was given to me and how it saved my life.

I have owned a Glock 17, Gen 4 for about 5 years. To this day I use it as my go-to for several reasons; Durability, accuracy, versatility, weight, lap count, balance, etc. The only modifications I did to my gun were; Pyramid trigger, Truglo optical sight, stainless steel competition recoil spring and grip tape. All of these items were purchased through Having the "backstrap" option makes the gun fit perfectly in my hand. Along with several other pistols, the Glock 17, Gen 4 is my “go to” pistol and I always feel confident having it by my side.
I have a gen 2 g17 that never misses. I switched to a new magazine. The original magazine started to crack. I replaced the springs and replaced the connectors. I may have done 3000 spins and I would risk my life for it. Now I have a Glock 5 and have had no issues with it.
